ProMedica will launch its 3rd annual Fields of Green scholarship program for high school students this month. As a leader in health care, ProMedica established Fields of Green as a system-wide initiative to raise awareness about obesity. The program encourages healthy lifestyles, while promoting solid nutrition and exercise habits.

The 2010 – 2011 Fields of Green scholarship contest will ask high school students to form small teams and design a breakfast program for elementary school students, including five in-school meals and five at-home meals. Students in grades 10 – 12 may enter the contest.

The competition is open to students in ProMedica’s service area in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Each member of the winning team will receive a $5,000 college scholarship, and the winning team’s school will receive a $1,000 cash award for the school’s health and science curriculum.

Contest entries must be received by Wed., Dec. 1, 2010. Watch for more information about the Fields of Green scholarship contest, including how to submit entries, at www.promedica.org/fieldsofgreen.
